My friend Erica (http://www.erica-america.com/) is always finding new fun things to do in DC. Her most recent discovery is the Hirshhorn's After Hours party, held every six weeks or so in the Hishhorn's courtyard. I went with a few friends and it was so much fun! Everyone gatheres outside around the lit-up pool and listens to great music (there was a band and then a DJ) while enjoying drinks, light effects, and the cool summer night. Partygoers are also allowed to wander around the Hirshhorn museum inside which is a very nice showcase of modern art. Right now they have an exhibit on cinema, with different short films playing in each room. It was an interesting cross section of DC gathered; young and old, gay and straight, hipsters and brooks brothers, this party apparently appeals to everyone. Admission was $10 and the drinks were fairly priced.
