Restaurant Review- Brasserie Beck

I very much enjoyed my first dining experience at Brasserie Beck on 11th and K Street NW. Its located right across from 1150K Street, a condo building I've shown many times, and I've always wondered how it is. The service would be my only complaint, our waiter wasn't responsive or friendly and I had to ask him multiple times to bring me a glass of wine (cant keep a girl waiting for her wine!!). The food was wonderful, the menu has lots of appetizers, sides, soups and salads so it was fun to put together a "tasting menu" of lots of different foods. Beck advertises as French-Belgian but there were definitely some creative twists on old classic dishes, the salads were presented in interesting ways, and I had pea soup with veal meatballs, definitely not something you see on every menu! The atmosphere was nice and although I was glad to be seated away from the noisy happy hour crowd, it looked like the bar is pretty happening on a weeknight.
