Crime Stats for Different DC Neighborhoods

As an agent I often have a hard time answering the question, "Is this a safe neighborhood?" It's a fair housing landmine question as well as something that is very subjective...what constitutes a "safe" neighborhood? what is a "low" crime level? Since these are not questions I or any other agent can answer for you...I suggest home and apartment shoppers check out the DC crime stats website http://crimemap.dc.gov/presentation/query.asp and type in addresses of different properties being considered. These are the facts and will give you a much better idea of what is going on. It is even informative to check your current neighborhood to know what kinds of crimes to watch out for.
