"Spite" Houses


Spite houses are houses built by one neighbor out of "spite" in order to block a neighbor's access to sunlight, an alley, a view, etc... The new listing 3047 N Street below is an example of a house thought to be a spite house. This Washington Post answer explains and highlights some other spite houses in the DC area. They tend to be oddly shaped (or very skinny!).
