www.WalkScore.com How "Walkable" is Your Neighborhood?

On the home page of www.walkscore.com it states "With gas at $4 a gallon, there's never been a better time to live in a walkable neighborhood." How true this is! This new website is apparently being used by a lot of home shoppers to look at different neighborhoods and whether they can walk to different amenities such as restaurants, gyms, grocery stores, shopping etc...(It also gives you the names of such places and how far away they are). I put in my address and apparently my neighborhood gets a score of 95 out of 100, a "walkers paradise." When I put in my parents address in suburban Chicago it pulled up the local restaurants and grocery store but deemed it "car dependent" with a score of 45. I would definitely recommend this website for anyone looking to move into a walking neighborhood!
